Fall 2020

Daily Health Screening

New Paltz Recreation Soccer will rely heavily on our families to follow the guidelines and protocols to help ensure we are lowering COVID-19 risk as much as possible while also allowing our athletes to train.  Parents/guardians must complete this short check of their child each afternoon before leaving home for the training session. If your child has any indications of a possible illness, it must be reported to New Paltz Recreation Soccer (newpaltzrecsoccer@gmail.com) and they cannot attend the training session.

Section 1: Symptoms

If your child has any of the following symptoms they cannot attend the training session. Please check your child and report any of these symptoms:

  • Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth

  • Sore throat

  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/ asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)

  • Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain

  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever

Section 2: Close contact/Physical Exposure

If your child has had close contact or physical exposure to COVID-19 that would put them at risk for spreading illness to others, they cannot attend the training session. Close contact or physical exposure must be reported to New Paltz Recreation Soccer (newpaltzrecsoccer@gmail.com).

  • Had close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 (within 6 feet for at least 15 minutes)

  • Traveled to or lived in an area where the local, Tribal, territorial, or state health department is reporting large numbers of COVID-19 cases as described in the Community Mitigation Framework

  • Live in areas of high community transmission (as described in the Community Mitigation Framework) while the school remains open:

Participants cannot attend a training session if there is any possibility that they may be ill in any manner. This is in the interest of your child and all other participants and coaches.
